David
Martin, a family-run jeweller, has opened in Lightwater village,
offering a large, affordable range of gold and silver jewellery
and silverware.
David
Martin has been a goldsmith and silversmith for 23 years, serving
his apprenticeship with the manager of Gerald Benny (The Queen’s
silversmith) and earning the Freedom of the City of London (see
certificate below - click image to see enlargement). David
has made many silver models for the military, two of which have
featured in this paper*
(the Millennium Dome and a silver frigate for HMS Portland).
Services include
in-house design and repair, antique restoration, watch battery
and strap replacement, with watch repair available. David said:
“It does not matter if the customer is spending £5
or £5,000 – each customer gets the care and service
they deserve”.

of Lightwater was officially opened on February 9th 2006 by the
Mayor of Surrey Heath.
